Ahhh Yes! Valentinces Day... Such an awkward holiday don't you think? I am kind of a boycotter of February 14th so don't hate me. Too much pressure on the American male... I mean, I just walked down Michigan Avenue and got 4 different flyers for flowers and chocolate... What are they trying to tell me here??? Am I supposed to be buying someone something? I can't help but fell like I'm a pawn in the middle of a Hallmark Chess Match. I am wondering how much money the Flower shops, candy shops, card shops, and stuffed animal shops are making today. Which brings up another great point. What do you buy a girl that works in a flower shop for Valentines Day? Is she screwed for the holiday...?
I think that the day is an acceptable holiday if you are in a relationship. Yes, It's nice to be reminded of your significant other and do nice things for each other, but i feel that you should try to do this more during the other 364 days as well... V-Day comes areound and you get all this pressure. Now you have to make it special for her, and if you screw that up, it is one more thing for her to be mad about.
No sir, tonight I am boycotting and that is definite. Let me tell you, I will feel loved when I order take out Sushi, snuggle up with my Budweiser and glass of Red and think about how happy we are together... Amen to singlehood..
