| THE DUEL-- ME vs. CHICAGO WINTER Yes "Chicago Winter"... It's all I heard when I decided to move up here. "Kevin, Chicago's great but you're gonna hate the winter..." Really??? No way, I'm tough. It can't be that different than Indianpolis. Oh Chicago Winter.... I have been so good this year. I have fought you off numerous times already. Yes you pack a mean punch, fight dirty, and you pull out little cheap shots once in awhile. But I have beaten you so far. I am undefeated in our bouts. You are like the hot girl from Junior High. When it comes down to it, "you are just a tease". You let off every once in a while and give me just a little glimpse of sun, and then bam, you unleash coldness upon us... I will not let you defeat me. This was my attitude so far people. Regardless of what everyone said, I kept to my roots and said that it was no different than Indy. But I have decided that Winter finally beat me in a match this week. I don't know how he did it, but he pulled it off when I wasn't even looking. But that's how it happens. Your trying to figure out why you're depressed for no reason, why your upset for no reason, and why you get amazingly agitated because someone happened to just walk speededly passed you up the escalators. Arrgghhh!!! That's all i can say. It gets to you whether you like it or not. And it's favorite day to strike by far is Monday morning. Other than that up in Chicago, the winter is not that different from Indianapolis. Yeah, a tad more windy, but it really just affects the little things you do. Like walking to the El to get to work instead of just walking outside to your car. Waiting outside for cabbies instead of just jumpin in your easily accessable car. Yes I have fought valiantly all winter long, and I will try to muster up something that I have held in reserve, but Winter is getting to me somehow. Is it too much to ask to just have one little freak weather day so I can taste the feeling of shorts and a T-shirt again? Maybe just a stroll by the lake and stop in at Castaways. OK that's a little much but I give in. You beat me this once. Aren't we square now? Well, the average high in late February is 35 degrees. Today its 31 and snowing... I look forward to seeing you all at the show tonight!!! Peace... ~~K.A.C.~~ |
