As I was digging into my Honey Nut Cheerios this morning, it brought me a flashback to my yournger days, but more importantly my younger saturdays...
You know how you eat the same cereal for a period of time because you love it, and then all the sudden you're just sick of it. And then you pick a new cereal and do the same thing over again. Well Honey Nut Cheerios were that way for me. I honestly don't think that I've had them since Saturday morning cartoons. Which leads me into my rant today. Have you seen today's cartoons? What the hell are they? I'm completely lost with these anime cartoons that come with trading cards and you play along and battle your friends and then take their cards. I know this makes me sound like some old man or something but I'm sure most can relate to this if they've ever accidentally switched through and watched one of them. I have nephews so i'm at an advantage and they inform me of what they watch, but still I have no clue what's goin on in these cartoons. Not only that but Saturdays just aren't the same. You used to get 3 to 4 hours of cartoons in the morning. Not anymore. You get like Franco's african jungle adventures.
But then again, have you ever watched your old favorite cartoons and started noticing stuff that you were oblivious to when you were younger. I mean Hee Man was favorite cartoon ever. I saw every episode back then and I didn't even know Hee-Man was gay. The same with thundercats. The smurfs though, smurf village had more hidden things than any of them. Anyway I think I'll just make 2 lists here at the end and quit ranting.
